Manuel Anselmi is currently a fixed-term researcher in Political Sociology at the University of Perugia and focuses on the politics of Latin American and Caribbean countries. He wrote a book, Chávez's children: Ideology, education and society, published by Lexington Books, Washington. He is a member of LASA, the Latin American Studies Association, and AIS, the Associazione Italiana di Sociologia (the Italian Sociology Association).

He has been a visiting scholar at Loyola University in New Orleans (USA), Fordham University in New York (USA) and Simon Rodriguez Barquisimeto (Venezuela) and is a blogger at The Huffington Post, Italy.
